When someone has been accused of cyber bullying, they could face severe penalties if they are found guilty. Furthermore, every case is different and the unique details surrounding a case could have an impact on the outcome, which is why an individualized approach could be crucial. In Dallas, Texas, people who have been accused of cyber bullying or other internet crimes should evaluate any legal options that are available and may want to consider hiring a criminal defense team experienced in internet crime.
According to one Texas mother, her daughter has been victimized by a cyber bully and has had to move to a private location in another state to escape the harassment, which allegedly includes death threats and stalking. The bully also reportedly targeted the girl's best friend.
The bullying allegedly started a few months ago after the woman's daughter, a middle school student, would not take pictures of her friend. Furthermore, the mother claims that the bully was jealous because of a boy. After the two girls were taken out of school, their parents turned to the authorities, who continue to investigate the case.
From cyberstalking and online bullying to computer fraud, there are a number of different internet crimes. These types of charges can interrupt someone's life and lead to long-term consequences if they are convicted. On top of jail time and a social stigma, those who are found guilty of an internet crime could be affected by their criminal record for many years to come. Anyone who is in this position may want to think about talking to a legal professional.
