When someone has been charged with drug possession, drug trafficking or drug manufacturing, their life may never be the same. If they are found guilty, the serious consequences that come with being convicted of drug offenses could permanently alter their life in numerous ways, even if they never committed the crime in the first place. In Dallas, Texas, anyone who has been charged with a drug crime should explore every available option and closely review the details pertaining to their case.
After authorities pulled over a 22-year-old man on FM 1252 in Gregg County, they reportedly discovered controlled substances and an illegal weapon. Troopers stopped the Kilgore man shortly before 11 p.m. before he was taken into custody and put behind bars in the Gregg County Jail.
When Texas Department of Public Safety officials looked through his vehicle, they allegedly came across marijuana along with an undisclosed controlled substance. His bond has been set at more than $36,000 and he is facing a number of drug charges.
Whether someone is accused of intent to distribute or possession of drug paraphernalia, the negative stigma associated with these crimes can affect them throughout life. For example, their relationships with friends and family members could suffer, or their criminal record could make it harder for them to find a job. As a result, people who are in this position should make sure they put their best foot forward in the courtroom and may want to think about talking to a legal professional. With an experienced defense team on their side, those who are going through this could secure a more favorable outcome.
